well what a crazy weekend!

For some reason I was up on Friday at 8am with no alarm, so was like- this is a sign, I need to go to the beach and have a coffee on the beach. Walk??? No- Drive. So I have my coffee and watch the waves, and drive back to my place and "BAM!" I get hit by a bus! There was a new traffic pattern where I live as there as has been non-stop construction. So I get out, it's an Indian guy who doesn't speak english, and it's a bus full of 40 workers! The police come, and they speak Arabic, not english. And of COURSE today would be the one day- the ONE DAY I would be wearing my most american J.Crew- Ken doll outfit- blue and white plaid shorts, a light blue polo shirt, with white flipflops, drinking a starbucks! AH! I'm sure the Indian bus driver was like "holy shit- I hit an american republican from Long island!" So my car was demolished. Thank god I had upgraded to an SUV rental because had I of been driving a camry, I don't know that I'd typing this right now. Because the driver had no insurance- and NO license, we both had to climb into the back of the police car and go to the police station where we gave our statements, and I was found to be "not at fault" - thank god (I've heard the people who drive rentals always get the ticket because we are expats and Budget literally has a replacement car to me the same day), but I was not at fault, so justice prevailed. Or they thought the J.Crew American probably had a good lawyer- either way I was glad. And the picture is of my new SUV! YEAH! I got an even bigger one! When I got home, I walked into my apartment to hear workers talking in my master bathroom. I cautiously walked in and they said there was a water leak and they were going to be working on it for the next day... or two. So to let them do their thing, I went to the mall and when I got back there was no sink, no cabinet, and a hole in the wall! No note from the workers- I mean why should they tell me whats going on!?? and so I just closed the door and was thankful I have a second bathroom. Ordered a bottle of wine from downstairs, and sat on my balcony and drank my day away. Thank goodness room service has a full bar! :-)
